WHAT IS A CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST? (CFA)
The CFA designation is a mark of distinction that is globally recognized by employers, investment professionals and investors as the definitive standard by which to measure serious investment professionals. To obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, one must have a bachelor's degree, and complete and pass three exams requiring approximately 250 hours worth of study time each. In addition, CFA charter holders must meet professional and ethical requirements to obtain their charter.
WHAT IS A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER? (CFP®)
A CFP practitioner has met the SFP Board's education, examination and experience requirements, which includes completing the CFP academic program, having a bachelor's degree, passing the SVP certification exam, and having at least three years of full-time work related experience. CFP practitioners adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and must meet continuing education requirements to maintain their certification.
